He is a classical archaeologist and scholar specializing in the innovative use of digital technologies in archaeological research and cultural heritage preservation. He has made significant contributions to the field through interdisciplinary collaboration, cutting-edge technology integration, and pioneering methodologies. Forte&#8217;s research interests encompass various aspects of archaeology, including landscape archaeology, virtual reconstructions of ancient sites, and the exploration of the sensory experiences of past civilizations. He is known for his work at several archaeological sites worldwide, where he has applied advanced techniques such as 3D modeling, virtual reality, remote sensing, AI and neuroscience applications to enhance our understanding of ancient cultures. He\u2019s an ACL Fellow and is very active in professional and public service. He has authored numerous books, with over a hundred publications to his name, including notable works such as <em>The\u00a0Romantic Generation\u00a0of\u00a0Modern Chinese Writers<\/em>, <em>Voices from the Iron House: A Study of Lu Xun<\/em> and <em>Shanghai Modern: The Emergence of a New Urban Culture in China 1930-1945<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Born in Henan and raised in Taiwan, Professor Lee graduated from the Department of&nbsp;Foreign Languages&nbsp;and Literatures at&nbsp;National Taiwan University&nbsp;in 1961 and obtained a Ph.D. in&nbsp;History&nbsp;and&nbsp;East Asian Languages&nbsp;from Harvard University in 1970. He has taught courses in translation technology and computer-aided translation for many years. His research interests lie in translation technology, bilingual lexicography, and Chinese-English translation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He has to date published 66 academic books in 73 volumes. Leong is also a Tenured Professor at the University of Missouri-Columbia in the USA and Visiting Professor at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. Leong has served as curator and judge for over 60 art exhibitions and competitions and presented more than 260 lectures across the US and Asia in institutions such as Stanford University, UC Berkeley, and China Academy of Art. Leong\u2019s work has been featured in Christie\u2019s, and in art expos, museums, and galleries worldwide through more than 70 solo and over 415 juried and curated national and international group exhibitions and has received over 100 awards. Leong\u2019s works can be found in more than ten museums, including the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Cantor Center for Visual Arts at Stanford University, as well as public art commissions for Columbia City Hall, and an 8-meter-diameter granite inset calligraphic medallion for a San Francisco city park. Before moving to Hong Kong, he was Professor and Director of International Programs at the Department of Applied Linguistics and ESL, College of Arts and Sciences at Georgia State University. He specializes in applied corpus linguistics, quantitative research, language policy and planning, technology and language teaching, sociolinguistics, cross-cultural communication, discipline-specific writing, and the analysis of spoken professional discourse in the workplace. Visiting Professor in Translation Technology at the Research Institute in Information and Language Processing (RIILP) of the University of Wolverhampton, UK (2007-2023), honorary Adjunct Professor at Xi&#8217;an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, China (since 2020), and Professor in Translation and Interpreting at the University of Malaga, Spain (since 2008). Published and cited extensively, member of several international and national editorial and scientific committees. Spanish delegate for AEN\/CTN 174 and CEN\/BTTF 138, Spanish expert for TC37\/SC5, where she has been convenor of ISO TC37\/SC5AHG2 \u201cSpeech to Text\u201d (2019-2023). Extensive experience in institutional evaluation programmes, including verification, monitoring and accreditation (ANECA, AQU, ACCUEE, DEVA, AQU, etc.). President of the Evaluation and Verification Commission (Arts and Humanities) at Fundaci\u00f3n para el Conocimiento Madri+d, and President of the Evaluation Committee (the Arts and Humanities) at ACCUEE. She also collaborates regularly as evaluator for the Spanish Ministry in various R&amp;D and youth employment programmes. She has recently been awarded the \u201c2017 Farola Award\u201d in the field of New Technologies, given by the Andalusian Women\u2019s Institute, Junta de Andaluc\u00eda; the Certificate of Commendation-Saint Francis Prize in Techno-Humanities 2022, given by the Caritas Institute of Higher Education, Hong Kong; the \u201cDoctora de Alcal\u00e1 Award\u201d for her excellent track-record in Arts and the Humanities (2022), given by the University of Alcala; and \u201cFlag of Andalucia Award\u201d on Research, Science and Healthcare (2023), granted by the Andalusian Government.
